Are we happy? Of course, but the thing is, we are and will be happy no matter where and how. Many have asked us how life has been for us. Are we settling down okay or not? Well, we always answer that we are good, no complaints. Not because the place is good, or the ministry is good, but because our God is good. We say we are good because we choose to be good despite the circumstances, and we actually try our best to be the thermostat of the circumstances, setting the tone of the place we are plugged into.

Like it used to, and it will always be a training ground and a family far away on the tiny island. Although the work is actually done, the soil is fertile now, but we have also rooted there, and we love the church and the people so much. After the trip, we found that the church in Bali needs our talents more than Singapore. We (sadly) felt that we could not be selfish and just close our hearts to the need we saw in Bali.

So, are we settled down and comfortable in Bali? Yeah, no complaints. So, are we happy living on this paradise island? Well, we’re happy living anywhere, actually. For us, it’s not about the place—whether it’s Bali, Singapore, or Bandung. It’s about the people. People are our mission. In the end, our journey wasn’t about finding the perfect place to settle or searching for comfort in a specific location. We’ve learned that it’s not the island, the city, or the environment that defines where we should be. It’s the people and the needs we see around us. Bali wasn’t just a move for a change of scenery—it was a calling we couldn’t ignore. We saw a need, a community that could benefit from what we have to offer, and that was enough to make the decision. Comfort and contentment are fleeting if they are based on the place alone, but when they’re rooted in purpose and service to others, they become deeply fulfilling. It’s never been about how easy or comfortable life is for us; it’s about being where we are most needed. And right now, that place is here in Bali.
